The iPhone is a line of smartphones designed and marketed by Apple Inc., first unveiled by co-founder Steve Jobs in January 2007 and released later that year. Combining a mobile phone, a widescreen touchscreen media player and an internet-communications device in a single handset with no physical keyboard, it popularized the modern touchscreen smartphone form factor, launched Apple's App Store ecosystem in 2008, and has been one of the best-selling and most profitable consumer products in history, generating the majority of Apple's revenue for much of its history.
