Apple Inc. was founded as a partnership on April 1, 1976, in Los Altos, California, by Steve Jobs, Steve Wozniak and Ronald Wayne, and incorporated the following year as Apple Computer, Inc. Wozniak hand-built the Apple I, the company's first product, and the Apple II followed as one of the first mass-produced personal computers; Wayne sold his stake back to Jobs and Wozniak twelve days after signing on. Apple's headquarters is Apple Park in Cupertino, California.
