AirPods are Apple Inc.'s line of wireless earbuds, first released in December 2016 following the removal of the headphone jack from that year's iPhone models. They popularized fully wireless (as opposed to wire-connected) earbuds as a mainstream consumer product, and have since expanded into AirPods Pro, with active noise cancellation, and AirPods Max, an over-ear headphone variant, becoming one of the best-selling wireless audio products in the world.
