The Coca-Cola Company is an American multinational beverage corporation headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, founded in 1892 by Asa Griggs Candler after he purchased the formula and brand for a soft drink developed in 1886 by the pharmacist John Stith Pemberton. It manufactures, markets and sells Coca-Cola and a wide range of other soft drinks and beverage concentrates, operating through a franchised bottling and distribution system that has been in place since 1889.
