Oracle Corporation is an American technology company founded in 1977 by Larry Ellison, Bob Miner and Ed Oates, originally as Software Development Laboratories, built around one of the first commercially available relational database management systems, Oracle Database. It grew into one of the world's largest enterprise software companies, expanding through major acquisitions including PeopleSoft, Siebel Systems, Sun Microsystems in 2010 (which brought it Java and MySQL) and the health-records company Cerner in 2022, and later into cloud infrastructure through Oracle Cloud Infrastructure. The company moved its headquarters from Redwood City, California to Austin, Texas in 2020.
