The Toyota Corolla is a series of compact cars, originally marketed as a subcompact, manufactured by Toyota Motor Corporation since 1966, with production beginning in Japan that November and later expanding to Brazil, Canada, China, the United Kingdom, and other countries. Since 1997 it has been the best-selling automobile nameplate of all time, surpassing the Volkswagen Beetle, and Toyota had sold more than 54 million Corollas across twelve generations as of early 2026. Early Corollas were rear-wheel drive before the line moved to front-wheel drive, with four-wheel drive also offered, and the current twelfth generation, the E210 introduced in 2018, is sold as a hatchback, estate, and sedan.
