The Polaroid instant camera, first sold by the Polaroid Corporation in 1948 based on Edwin Land's instant-film chemistry, produced a finished photographic print within minutes of exposure, with no separate developing step. It created the mass consumer instant-photography market, sold across many successive camera and film models through the 20th century, and after Polaroid's bankruptcies and the decline of instant film in the digital-camera era, instant photography saw a niche revival in the 2010s under the Polaroid Originals/Polaroid brand and rivals such as Fujifilm's Instax.
