Lucky Charms

Lucky Charms is a breakfast cereal made by General Mills that combines pieces of shaped, pulverized oat cereal with multi-colored marshmallow pieces shaped like lucky symbols, introduced on March 20, 1964. It was developed by John Holahan after he had the idea of mixing Cheerios with bits of Brach's circus peanut candy, and it was the first cereal to include marshmallows in its recipe, using marshmallow pieces called marbits patented in 1971 by Edward S. Olney and Howard S. Thurmon. The cereal is marketed with a leprechaun mascot named Lucky and the tagline They're magically delicious, and expanded from its original United States market into Canada and the United Kingdom.
