Google Cloud Platform (GCP) is a cloud-computing service suite launched by Google in 2008, offering computing, storage, data-analytics and machine-learning infrastructure in competition chiefly with Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Azure. It grew into one of the three dominant global public-cloud providers, drawing on Google's own internal infrastructure and, particularly since the 2020s AI boom, its machine-learning research and custom AI accelerator hardware (TPUs) as a competitive differentiator.
