The Gillette Mach3 is a three-blade wet-shaving razor system launched by The Gillette Company in 1998, developed at a reported cost of roughly three-quarters of a billion dollars in research and marketing, an unusually large investment for a shaving product at the time. Continuing Gillette's decades-long pattern of successive multi-blade razor generations dating back to the original safety razor, it was among the best-selling razor systems of its era and helped intensify the multi-blade "razor wars" among shaving-product makers through the 2000s.
