Dove is a personal care brand owned by Unilever, spanning cleansing and skincare products including antiperspirants and deodorants, body washes, beauty bars, moisturizers, hair care, and facial care for women, men, babies, and children. The original Dove Beauty Bar launched in the United States in 1957, developed by Lever Brothers using a manufacturing process patented by American chemist Vincent Lamberti, and the brand promotes mildness from a neutral pH as its central selling point. Dove is sold in more than 150 countries, became the world's leading personal care brand by 2001 with over a billion dollars in annual sales, and ranks as Unilever's third-largest brand; the company later added lines including Dove Men+Care, launched in January 2010, and Baby Dove.
