DoorDash is a food-delivery marketplace platform founded by Tony Xu, Stanley Tang, Andy Fang and Evan Moore in 2013, connecting restaurants, delivery couriers (Dashers) and customers through a smartphone app. It grew into the largest food-delivery platform in the United States by market share, went public in 2020, and like other gig-economy delivery platforms has drawn sustained scrutiny over courier pay, restaurant commission fees and independent-contractor labor classification.
