The Chase Sapphire Reserve is a premium travel rewards credit card issued by Chase on the Visa Infinite platform, launched on August 23, 2016. It joined Chase's Sapphire family of rewards cards offering points on travel and dining purchases along with travel credits, and demand was strong enough at launch that Chase temporarily ran out of the metal used to manufacture the card, with sign-ups exceeding the company's forecast within two weeks.
