Cap'n Crunch

Cap'n Crunch is a corn and oat breakfast cereal made by the Quaker Oats Company, a PepsiCo subsidiary since 2001, introduced in 1963. Its original flavor was developed by flavorist Pamela Low, who drew on her grandmother's brown sugar and butter mixture served over rice, and it was among the first cereals to use an oil coating to deliver flavor, which required new baking techniques to produce. The cereal is fronted by the cartoon mascot Cap'n Horatio Crunch, created by Allan Burns, and is described in its own slogan as having corn for crunch, oats for punch, and staying crunchy even in milk; Quaker has since introduced numerous flavor variations and limited-edition versions.
