Yoshinoya is a Japanese multinational fast food chain specializing in gyudon, a bowl of rice topped with simmered beef and onion, founded in Tokyo in 1899 by Eikichi Matsuda and headquartered in Kita, Tokyo. Built around the motto tasty, low priced and quick, the chain operates around 1,200 restaurants and is the second largest chain of gyudon restaurants, with locations across East Asia, Southeast Asia and the United States, and it trades on the Tokyo Stock Exchange.
