The Women's League of Health and Beauty was a mass keep-fit organization founded in Britain by Mary Bagot Stack, an Irish health and fitness expert. In 1930 it grew into a commercial enterprise operating out of the YMCA's Regent Street premises in London, running group exercise classes for women and children that combined dance, calisthenics, and remedial, slimming and rhythmical movement set to music. It also published its own magazine, and its membership grew rapidly from 47,000 in 1934 to 166,000 by 1937. It continues today under the name Flexercise.
