Willis Towers Watson plc is a global insurance brokerage, risk management, and human capital consulting company incorporated in Ireland with major operations centered in London. It was formed in January 2016 through the merger of Willis Group Holdings, an insurance broker tracing its origins to 1828 when Henry Willis founded an insurance business in London, and Towers Watson, an actuarial and human resources consulting firm formed by an earlier 2010 merger of Towers Perrin and Watson Wyatt. The combined company advises corporate clients on insurance placement, risk management, employee benefits, and executive compensation.
