Wildseed Farms is a commercial wildflower farm and mail order gardening business founded in 1983 by John and Marilyn Thomas, originally in Eagle Lake, Texas, and relocated to Fredericksburg, Texas, in 1997. Billed as the largest working wildflower farm in the country, it sells seeds, plants, garden art and accessories by mail order and through an on site retail operation, drawing about 100,000 visitors each spring to see its fields, its butterfly area and its concerts, and generating roughly four million dollars in annual sales, of which about 1.5 million comes from retail.
