The Philadelphia Contributionship, formally the Philadelphia Contributionship for the Insurance of Houses from Loss by Fire, is an American property insurance company founded in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1752 by Benjamin Franklin. It is considered the oldest property insurance company in the United States and operates on a mutual insurance structure. The company still operates today, offering homeowners, condo, renters, landlord property, and umbrella liability insurance across Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, and Virginia, and employs more than 120 people.
