The Navigator Company, S.A. is a Portuguese pulp and paper company established in 2001, headquartered in Setubal, with operations tracing back to the Cacia mill, which began operating under the Portucel name in 1953. The company produces newsprint, writing paper, bleached kraft pulp, biomass and timber products, with an annual productive capacity of 1.6 million tonnes of paper and 1.4 million tonnes of pulp, maintaining 1,380 square kilometres of forest for its eucalyptus-based production. It is Europe's largest producer of bleached eucalyptus kraft pulp and ranks among the five largest European producers of uncoated woodfree paper, generating annual revenues exceeding 1.5 billion euros; it trades on Euronext Lisbon under the ticker NVG and is majority owned by Semapa.
