Telefonica Germany is a German telecommunications operator headquartered in Munich, founded in 1995 as VIAG Interkom and now majority owned (96.8 percent) by the Spanish parent Telefonica, S.A. Operating under the O2 brand, it provides mobile, LTE, 5G, broadband, cable internet, landline and IPTV services across Germany, managing roughly 35.2 million mobile connections over more than 29,000 of its own network sites. The company was delisted from the Frankfurt Stock Exchange in April 2024.
