Spaten-Franziskaner-Bräu is a German brewing company headquartered in Munich, Bavaria, with roots reaching back to 1397 and formed in its current shape by the 1997 merger of the historic Spaten and Franziskaner breweries. It produces the Spaten and Franziskaner beer brands and is one of only six breweries authorized to serve beer at Munich's Oktoberfest, with an annual production capacity of roughly 2.4 million hectoliters. The company was sold to Interbrew in 2003 for 530 million euros and is now part of AB InBev.
