Singapore Telecommunications Limited, widely known as Singtel, is a Singaporean telecommunications company headquartered in Singapore, tracing its roots to telegraph and telephone services established in the city from 1879, corporatized as Singapore Telecom in 1992 and majority owned by the Singaporean state investment company Temasek Holdings.
