Shinhan Financial Group is a South Korean financial holding company headquartered in Seoul, providing banking, securities, life insurance and investment banking services through its subsidiaries. Founded in 1982, it adopted its holding company structure in September 2001 and is counted among South Korea's Big Five financial groups alongside KB Financial Group, NH Financial Group, Hana Financial Group and Woori Financial Group. In 2025 the group reported net profit of about 4.97 trillion won and became the first Korean financial group to surpass 1 trillion won in overseas pre tax profit.
