Shaw Organisation is a film distribution company and cinema chain founded in Singapore by brothers Runme Shaw and Run Run Shaw, who moved there in the 1920s to expand a family business founded by Runje Shaw, originally operating as a distributor for the Shaw brothers' Tianyi Film Company of Shanghai. Run Run Shaw later moved to Hong Kong in the 1950s to run Shaw Brothers Studio while Runme Shaw remained in Singapore to run Shaw Organisation, which unlike Tianyi does not produce films but distributes them through its own theatres.
