Shadwell Racing is a thoroughbred horse racing and breeding operation established in 1981 by Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, who was introduced to flat racing while studying in the United Kingdom and set up his first stable there that year. The operation grew to include major stud and training bases in Lexington, Kentucky, Suffolk, England, and County Kildare, Ireland, at its height owning eight stud farms worldwide with more than 200 regally bred mares and numerous top stallions. Since Sheikh Hamdan's death in 2021, the operation has been run by his daughter, Sheikha Hissa.
