Saudi Telecom Company, widely known by its stc brand, is Saudi Arabia's largest telecommunications operator, headquartered in Riyadh. It was established in 1998 when the kingdom spun its telecommunications operations out of the Ministry of Posts, Telephone and Telegraph into a standalone joint-stock company, with the Saudi government, through the Public Investment Fund, retaining majority ownership following a series of partial privatizations. stc provides fixed-line, mobile, broadband and digital services across Saudi Arabia and has expanded regionally through subsidiaries and joint ventures in markets including Kuwait, Bahrain and other Gulf and Middle Eastern states, positioning itself as one of the region's largest integrated telecom groups by revenue and market capitalization.
