Sartorius AG

Sartorius AG is a German laboratory and biopharmaceutical equipment company headquartered in Goettingen, a major global supplier to biotechnology and pharmaceutical manufacturers. It was founded in 1870 by Florenz Sartorius, initially as a maker of precision analytical balances, and diversified over the following century and a half into filtration, laboratory instruments and, increasingly, single-use bioprocessing equipment used to manufacture biologic drugs and vaccines. The company operates through two main divisions, Bioprocess Solutions and Lab Products and Services, and has grown rapidly alongside the broader expansion of biopharmaceutical manufacturing worldwide. Sartorius also holds a large stake in the French life-sciences company Sartorius Stedim Biotech, its principal bioprocessing subsidiary.
