Samuel Allsopp & Sons was one of the largest breweries in Burton upon Trent, England, founded in 1807 when Samuel Allsopp bought an existing brewery from Benjamin Wilson Jr. By 1861 it had grown into the second largest brewery in the country after Bass, but financial trouble in the early twentieth century led to its 1935 merger with Ind Coope, after which the Allsopp name eventually disappeared. In the 2020s the brand was revived by Jamie Allsopp, a descendant of the founder, who used recovered historical recipes to resume production.
