Sagamore Farm

Sagamore Farm is a thoroughbred horse farm established in 1925 in Reisterstown, Maryland, by Isaac Edward Emerson as a gift for his daughter. Under his grandson Alfred G. Vanderbilt Jr. the farm bred and trained champion racehorses, including the Hall of Fame inductees Discovery, Bed o Roses and Native Dancer, and stood champion stallions at stud. The property was sold to a developer in 1986 and bought in 2007 by Kevin Plank, the founder of Under Armour. It no longer operates as a thoroughbred breeding business; as of 2020 it grows grain for the Sagamore Spirit rye whiskey brand and draws on the property spring water, and its historic 90-stall barn, which has an interior quarter-mile track, has been under renovation.
