REN, Redes Energeticas Nacionais, SGPS, S.A., formerly Rede Electrica Nacional, is a Portuguese energy sector company established in 1994 and headquartered in Lisbon that holds the concession for the country's two main energy infrastructure networks. REN operates Portugal's National Electricity Transmission Grid and National Natural Gas Transportation Grid, and also manages liquefied natural gas storage and transportation, including an LNG regasification facility at Sines, with responsibility for the planning, construction, operation, maintenance and technical management of these systems while ensuring fair grid access for all market participants.
