Radio Free Asia is an American nonprofit broadcasting organization headquartered in Washington, D.C., funded by the US Congress through the US Agency for Global Media and established in 1996. It broadcasts news and information in numerous Asian languages, including Mandarin, Tibetan, Uyghur, Korean and Vietnamese, to audiences in countries where the US government has judged press freedom to be restricted, notably China, North Korea, Vietnam and Myanmar.
