Peroni is an Italian brewing company founded in 1846 in Vigevano, Italy by Francesco Peroni, relocating to Rome in 1864, six years before Rome became Italy's capital, and now headquartered there. It produces beer brands including Peroni and Nastro Azzurro, and by the 1950s and 1960s was the most recognized beer brand across the Italian peninsula, ranking by 2019 among the five most popular Italian beers worldwide. Ownership passed to SABMiller in 2003, then to AB InBev, before Asahi Breweries acquired the company in February 2016; Molson Coors produces Peroni domestically for the United States at its Albany, Georgia facility.
