Pernod Ricard SA is a French spirits and wine company headquartered in Paris, formed in 1975 through the merger of two historic anise-flavored liqueur makers, Pernod and Ricard, both producers of pastis aperitifs including Pernod Anise and Ricard Pastis. Beyond its founding pastis brands, the company has grown through acquisition into the world's second-largest wine and spirits company by sales, with a portfolio of major international brands including Absolut Vodka, Chivas Regal and Ballantine's Scotch whiskies, Jameson Irish whiskey, Beefeater gin and Martell cognac.
