Permanent TSB Group Holdings plc, trading as PTSB, is a provider of personal financial services in Ireland, headquartered in Dublin. Its origins trace to 1816, and its modern form emerged when Irish Life Assurance, founded in 1939, and the Irish Permanent Building Society, founded in 1884, merged to form the Irish Life and Permanent Group in 1999, which acquired the Trustee Savings Bank in 2001. The bank provides retail banking services including mortgages and savings products, along with investment management, operates over one million customer accounts across Ireland, and is listed on Euronext Dublin and the London Stock Exchange as an ISEQ 20 component; following majority state ownership after the 2008 financial crisis, PTSB agreed in April 2026 to be acquired by the Austrian lender BAWAG for approximately 1.62 billion euros.
