The People's Press Printing Society is a British readers' co-operative and publishing company founded in 1945, with shares sold at one pound each, to own and publish the left-wing British daily newspaper the Daily Worker, renamed the Morning Star in 1966. Ownership of the paper was transferred from the Communist Party of Great Britain to the society on 6 January 1946, though the party retained editorial and political control until 1951. The society continues to operate today, holding annual general meetings with readers, and has reported mixed financial results in recent years, including a loss of 41,179 pounds in 2013 and a surplus of 1,137 pounds in 2014.
