Open Road Films is an American independent film production and distribution company based in Los Angeles, California, founded on March 26, 2011, by Tom Ortenberg. It was originally established as a joint venture between the two largest American theater chains, AMC Theatres and Regal Entertainment Group, before Tang Media Partners, owned by Donald Tang, acquired the company in August 2017.
