Nomura Real Estate Holdings, Inc. is a Japanese real estate developer headquartered in Tokyo, one of the largest property developers in Japan. It was founded in 1957 as Nomura Real Estate Development, originally established under the umbrella of the Nomura financial group to develop residential land, and it grew into a major builder of condominiums, office buildings and commercial property across Japan, marketing its residential developments under the long-running Proud brand. The holding company structure was created in 2013 to oversee the group's development, property management, brokerage and investment management businesses. Despite its historical Nomura group origins, the company has operated as an independently managed and separately listed business from the Nomura Holdings securities and investment banking group for many years.
