Nomura Holdings, Inc. is a Japanese financial holding company headquartered in Tokyo, and Japan's largest investment bank and securities brokerage firm. It traces its origins to 1925, when its founding securities business was established in Osaka by Tokushichi Nomura II as a spin-off of the securities department of his family's banking business. Nomura provides investment banking, wealth management, and asset management services, and its 2008 acquisition of the Asian and European operations of the collapsed American investment bank Lehman Brothers, already live in this atlas, substantially expanded its international presence.
