Nexi

Nexi S.p.A., formerly known as Istituto Centrale delle Banche Popolari Italiane, is an Italian company that provides digital payment services and infrastructure for banks, businesses, institutions and public administrations. It began in 1939 as a cooperative set up by several Italian popular banks to support their shared activities, evolving over the decades from a banking support institution into a fintech company, and it took the Nexi name in November 2017. Through acquisitions and mergers, including deals with SIA S.p.A. and the Danish payment processor Nets, it has grown into one of Europe's largest financial technology groups, providing merchant and financial services across several European markets.
