Nedbank Group is a South African financial services group headquartered in Sandton, Gauteng, offering wholesale and retail banking alongside insurance, asset management, and wealth management services, with a presence across the Southern African Development Community and additional offices in Ghana, Kenya, the United Kingdom, and the United Arab Emirates. Founded on March 1, 1888 as a Dutch-South African banking venture based in Amsterdam, Nedbank became a fully South African-owned enterprise by 1970 and now trades on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange under the ticker NED, with Old Mutual Life Assurance Company Limited holding a 46 percent stake. In 2018 the group reported revenue of R75.9 billion, net income of R28.8 billion, and total assets of R1.04 trillion, with about 31,277 employees, under CEO Jason Quinn and Chairman Daniel Mminele.
