Founded in 1985 by Laurie Chiappini and Stewart Cohen, the group operates 3,100 stores across ten brands, including MRP, Studio 88, Sheet Street, Miladys, MRP Home, and MRP Sport, employs more than 32,000 people, and is listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange under the ticker MRP, ranking 32nd on the FTSE/JSE Top 40 Index. In its 2025 financial year the group reported revenue of R40.93 billion, operating income of R5.78 billion, and net income of R3.78 billion.
