Mowi ASA is a Norwegian seafood company, previously known as Marine Harvest ASA until 2019 and as Pan Fish until 2007. It farms fish globally, primarily salmon, with operations in Norway, Scotland, Canada, the Faroe Islands, Ireland and Chile, and controls an estimated 25 to 30 percent of the global salmon and trout market, making it the largest company in the sector. Beyond farming, Mowi runs a value added processing division that prepares and distributes seafood products. Its present form dates to a 2006 three way merger of Pan Fish ASA, Marine Harvest N.V. and Fjord Seafood. Headquartered in Bergen, Mowi trades on the Oslo Stock Exchange as a constituent of the OBX Index. For 2023 it reported revenue of 5.51 billion euros, an 11 percent increase, and a net profit of 444.4 million euros, a 43 percent decline, with a profit margin of 8.1 percent, down from 16 percent in 2022.
