Midea Group Co., Ltd. is a Chinese electrical appliance manufacturer headquartered in Beijiao town, Shunde District, Foshan, Guangdong, founded by He Xiangjian in 1968 as a maker of bottle lids before evolving into electrical goods. It makes a broad range of home appliances, including lighting, water appliances, floor care, small kitchen appliances, laundry, large cooking appliances and refrigeration, and is the largest microwave oven manufacturer with a significant presence in heating, ventilation and air conditioning. As of 2021 it employed about 150,000 people across more than 200 subsidiaries, reported US$40.5 billion in sales revenue for 2020, and has been listed on the Fortune Global 500 since July 2016, trading on the Shenzhen and Hong Kong stock exchanges.
