It was formed on July 1, 2020 when Outotec and Metso Minerals merged, initially trading as Metso Outotec before rebranding to Metso in May 2023. The company trades on Nasdaq Helsinki under the ticker METSO. This is a distinct entity from the earlier Metso Corporation formed in 1999 from Valmet and Rauma Oy, which dissolved in the 2020 merger that created this company.
