Melrose Industries plc is a British aerospace manufacturing company based in Birmingham, England, and the parent company of GKN Aerospace. It was founded in 2003 by David Roper, Christopher Miller and Simon Peckham with a strategy of acquiring and turning around underperforming engineering businesses, including Dynacast, McKechnie, FKI, Elster, Nortek and GKN over the years. In 2023 Melrose demerged GKN Automotive and GKN Powder Metallurgy to form Dowlais Group, refocusing itself as a specialist aerospace company; it is listed on the London Stock Exchange as a constituent of the FTSE 100 Index.
