Maxis Berhad is one of Malaysia's leading mobile network and broadband operators, headquartered in Kuala Lumpur and founded in 1993 as the country's telecom sector was opened to competition. The company launched Malaysia's first cellular network under the Maxis brand and has long ranked among the top mobile operators in the country by revenue and subscriber base, alongside Celcom and Digi. Maxis has historically been controlled by entities linked to Malaysian businessman Ananda Krishnan through the Binariang and Usaha Tegas investment vehicles, and beyond mobile voice and data it provides fixed broadband, enterprise connectivity and digital services to consumers and businesses across Malaysia.
