Maldivian is the airline division of Island Aviation Services and the flag carrier of the Maldives, based in Malé with its main hub at Velana International Airport. The state-owned parent company was established on April 13, 2000, and the airline was rebranded as Maldivian on August 25, 2008, having begun international service earlier that year with flights to Thiruvananthapuram, India; it operates around 25 aircraft to 33 destinations.
