The Maine Coast Railroad was founded in 1990 to operate freight and passenger rail service on track owned by the Maine Department of Transportation between Brunswick and Rockland, Maine, with passenger trains running between Wiscasset and Warren. It closed on December 4, 2000 after losing its lease to the tracks, and the same line was later operated by the Maine Eastern Railroad from 2004 to 2015.
