Lorillard Tobacco Company was an American tobacco manufacturer founded in 1760 by Pierre Abraham Lorillard. Headquartered in Greensboro, North Carolina, it manufactured cigarettes under brands including Newport, Old Gold, Kent, True, Maverick, and Satin, and later also produced electronic cigarettes. The company operated as a publicly traded corporation, reporting revenue of 6.46 billion dollars in 2011, until it was acquired by Reynolds American in 2015.
